When it comes to creating your invention, Building a prototype is a very important aspect in the process of inventing. It will help you determine what works and if it will not work. Most of my concepts are small, sewn items and many of the components i can find locally at a dollar store or hardware store. However, once you have an idea for a new invention, you should always keep a keen eye for parts and materials you may think can assist you in creating a decent prototype to make you idea come to life. There are times i will just walk through the dollar store, just to see what i can find. I don’t like to spend a lot of money to build a prototype. Manly due to I may have to make multiple versions until i come up with a model i think works the best. Consider how your parts of your invention will connect, and move about. Once i have found something i think will work in my invention, i usually purchase more than one. I do this so that, if i mess up some of the parts, i can try again with a new one. This is why i stress, to try and not spend a great deal of money on building your prototype. You may have to build multiple ones and it can get costly, depending on what you are building. Keep note on where you purchased your parts, as well as what each part cost you. If you get lucky and build the first prototype to perfection, that is terrific! Now you can move forward and see if you can have a working model built by a professional. If you need to create a second, a third or even a forth prototype, keep building it until you make it the best prototype it can be.
The better your prototype is, the easier it is for others to visualize your idea and create a finished model for the marketplace.
